Several initiatives and forums connect public, private and civil society actors. Examples of these initiative are the Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH), the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF) or the International Cocoa Organisation (ICCO).

In these partnerships, actors from government, industry and civil society work together in programs towards a sustainable and fair cocoa sector. PPPs are part of many development initiatives and are much debated, for example on the role of public finance in private sector development.
