Different cocoa producing countries have different marketing arrangements. Some protect farmers from price fluctuations, like Ghana. Other markets are fully liberalized and leave it up to the farmer to make a good marketing deal.

The variety of marketing channels is increasing: mainstream cocoa, certified cocoa, specialty cocoa, traceable cocoa... What marketing channel is potentially best for what farmer requires good market information.
